MODERN APPROACHES TO THE DEFINITION OF ORGANIC AGRICULTURE
Abstract
In the article it is substantiated that the scientific opinion plays the important role in the understanding of the essence and advantages of organic over conventional products. It has been engaged in the substantiation of definitions and concepts related to organic agriculture in order to avoid misconceptions and clear conceptual apparatus formation for many years. A retrospective analysis of the "organic agriculture" concept in the world science and practice was conducted. It is noted that the conceptual apparatus formed by representatives of International organic movement has greatly helped to substantiate the main definitions of the first legislation on organic agriculture in European countries. The modern approaches to the interpretation of the concept under the study by the international organic community as the preconditions of the world organic movement development are determined. A comparative analysis of the organic agriculture definition in domestic and foreign legislations was conducted to clarify and specify Ukrainian organic legislation. The domestic approaches to the research definition interpretation for the author's approach are analyzed. It is proved that organic agriculture is rather complex and multidimensional concept, the study and specification of which has been taking place for many decades. The objective need for more precise definition of this concept due to the need for more clear understanding of its essence by representatives of the public and legislative sphere, since it depends on the public awareness level about the qualitative advantages of organic, as well as the effectiveness of the organic sphere legal regulation in the country.
