PRODUCTIVITY OF NEW VARIETIES OF WINTER BARLEY AT MINERAL FERTILIZATION ON THE DARK-GRAY PODZOLIZED SOILS
Abstract
The article gives a comparative evaluation of the productivity of new varieties of winter barley when applying the calculated norms of mineral fertilizers on the dark- gray podzolized soils in the Western ForestSteppe of Ukraine. It was established that in order to obtain the projected yield of winter barley's grain 8.0 t/ha, it is necessary to introduce N129Р66К132 kg a.s. The results of the research showed that the highest winter hardiness of 9 points have such varieties as Aborigen, Amarena and Scarpia. The varieties Amarena and Aivengo are the most resistant to lodging in comparison with the standard. The height of plants does not affect their resistance to lodging. All research varieties of winter barley are characterized by a fairly high resistance to disease (7-9 points). A significant increase of the yield of winter barley's grain in comparison with the standard (variety Academic) was obtained at cultivating the variety Amarena (1.23 t/ha), which was able to fully realize its genetic potential of yield
