The paper presents the results of the land fund structure research of Zhytomyr region and Ukraine as well. The trends was detected over the past 5 years and possible directions of optimizing the structure of land-based emission evaluation of soil status was suggested, depending on their belonging to a certain type of agriculturally used areas and the intensity of anthropogenic load. Was found that the value of the agricultural land share in the structure of the land fund of Zhytomyr region is close to optimally defined boundaries for the Polissya zone of Ukraine – and set at 50%.
